Confidential and Proprietary Information-Privacy Policy

Integral to OAI’s business success is our protection of confidential company information, as well as non-public information entrusted to us by employees, customers and other business partners. Confidential and proprietary information includes such things as pricing and financial data, customer names/addresses or non-public information about companies, including current or potential supplier and vendors. We will not disclose confidential and non-public information without a valid business purpose and proper authorization.

Ocean Air International (OAI) ‘Privacy Policy’ is designed to assist our clients in understanding how OAI collects, uses and safeguards the personal information provided as part of email and website communication. The responsibility for approval, implementation and accountability of this Privacy Policy are the executive management of OAI.

Documentation / Communication

This Privacy Policy is documented and communicated to all OAI members and to every customer/vendor via a link to the policy under each OAI employee email signature line. This provides easy access to the policy to all in communication with OAI.

Environmental

OAI is committed to environmental leadership and we believe that environmental protection is the responsibility of every employee of the corporation. Our policy concerning environmental protection addresses aspects of the corporation’s operations which can potentially impact the environment. We acknowledge that our share of activity on a global level is limited; however, being an industry leader, we recognize that we have an important role to play in encouraging others to reduce their adverse effects on the environment. We will achieve this through continuous innovation of products and services that are beneficial for the environment, whilst having a positive effect on the company’s return on investment. When you visit our site, you may provide OAI with personal information you choose to disclose by contacting OAI and/or usage information collected by OAI. Usage information is typically not visible to you and is collected on an anonymous basis as you and others browse this site.

OAI collects, uses, retains, and discloses personal data only for the purpose of facilitating the transportation and storage of our customer’s household goods and personal effects.

OAI limits the use of personal information to the purposes defined in this Privacy Policy and for which the customer has provided implicit and explicit consent. OAI retains personal information for only as long as necessary or as required by law and thereafter appropriately disposes of such information.

We secure your personal information submitted by you by preventing unauthorized access or disclosure, or accidental loss or destruction. Other communications you may have with OAI via email or postal mail may not be secure unless OAI advises you that security measures are in place prior to your sending information. Therefore, if you choose to communicate with OAI through these means, you are assuming the risk of doing so and OAI requests that you do not send or post sensitive information through these means.

Upon request, OAI will allow customers access to their personal information (if retained) for review and update.

Quality

OAI maintains accurate, complete, and relevant personal information only for the purposes as defined in this Privacy Policy.

In addition, in order to provide quality service, and as part of the normal course of doing business, at various stages of a customer’s move we may share your personal information with the following third parties:

•             Origin or Destination Movers

•             Customs Brokers / Agents

•             Steamship Lines or Airlines

•             Ground Transportation companies

All the above third parties are informed and committed to accomplish the elements of this Privacy Policy. We have taken all measures possible to ensure that our supply chain and third parties know, understand, and maintain such policy.

Monitoring and Enforcement

OAI monitors compliance of its Privacy Policy through the following methods:

•             An annual review of the Privacy Policy for relevance to the current business climate

•             A review of any complaints or disputes on privacy related issues during the previous 12 calendar months.

•             An annual review of our Supply Chain and any privacy related issues

Privacy related complaints and disputes will be escalated to appropriate management for review and resolution. Based on this review, one of the following courses of action will be implemented:

•             A determination will be made if adherence to OAI Privacy Policy was met, or if a deviation from the stated Privacy Policy occurred.

Based on the review results, a communication will be sent to the customer explaining the decision of management, and, if applicable, identifying the root cause of the problem and steps taken within OAI to prevent the possibility of it happening again.

An internal review will be conducted either formally or informally to determine if a change is operational procedure is necessary to improve the Privacy Policy, or to prevent the occurrence from happening again (if applicable).
